The Brian Says...

It's amaizing how proud you can be of someone who can act like such a little shit sometimes. ::LOL:: Both Brian and Clay are a little slow to wake up, but not terribly, but once they're awake, they're awake, and Brian? Brian wakes up happy! He's a year old and he's already a morning person. ::shakes head:: It's stunning, really. Clay's more or less an "all day" person, but Brian is definatly a morning person.

So with Mom's knee still bad (and she has not worn the brace once in the last three weeks or more ::growls::) and Dad takeing the opertunity to sleep in, I went up to help with Brian (who woke up first, and then later Clay, too). So I got quite a bit of one-on-one time with Brian, today, who just wanted to eat jam (toast is nothing more then a butter and/or jam delivery device to those two) and read books. But he did three very cool things...
    1) In the space of four days, his ablity to say "why" has gone from "Wh-uuu-ieieieie?" to "Whyyyy--eeee?" It's incredible, it's an actual word now! Which is is now couppling with "What that?" (which he's also learned from Clay)

    2) Today he started to say "Please"!! This is huge. We insist on Clay saying Please when he wants stuff (food expeicaly), but he only does it when absolutly forced to, so we figured Brian would be the same. Mostly we just ask him to say "more" since that he can say, but every now and then we try to get him to say Please. And today he finaly did! Well... "Plleeeeeeessssss" But still! And he's doing it on command (for rasins). That's really huge for him. But the third thing is what makes me happyest...

    3) He said "Buddy" to me today!! He actualy said Buddy! Apprently a week or two ago, he started calling for "Bubb-buhh" or "Bubba", which mom threatend to make my new nickname, but I hadn't heard it, because he only did it standing at the top of the stairs and calling for me when I'm asleep. But today we were eatting Toast together, and he kept pressing it aginst me, and I said "Please don't get jam on Buddy's shirt." And so he nodded and said "Buddy."
::sniffles:: I was so happy! His first word was basicly "Gamma" (Grandma), which he used for everything, of course, but with Clay, he couldn't say my name, which is exactly how I got the nickname Buddy in the first place. Clay never said my name, or any of my actual nick names, and got really standoffish with me, and we couldn't figure out why. Then one day he pointed at me and said "Buddy". And then I was his BFF again. ::LOL:: But he was at least a year old by then, and speeking on his own. So I never got to actualy hear my name as a new word.

Today I did. Today Brian actualy said Buddy, right to me. ::proud:: That right there really made my day. ::♥loves♥::
