Movies I've watched recently:The Avengers - Joss Whedon dialogue is good. I liked the interaction between the Hulk's character and the Ironman guy. But Loki was a boring villain, and there wasn't enough substantial plot for me - don't really get into the "the whole ship/city is getting trashed" action scenes that composed the majority of the movie ( Read more... )

Went to a bookstore to check for the latest Terry Pratchett book, "I Shall Wear Midnight". But I forgot that it would be in hardcover, and therefore $55 dollars! For some reason, I don't feel like the book justifies paying that much. Maybe because it's from the Tiffany "young adult" series, so it should be cheaper somehow? Hurray for free movie screenings at uni!

Today I watched "Chosyu Five" (長州ファイブ) with Anne-chan at the 大学会館 uni hall。Very interesting. It's about these 5 Japanese young men (from 長州) who go to 留学 overseas study in London for 5 years. This happens just before the Meiji restoration, so they have to go in secret because it's still closed country.

Movie - The Illusionist
Anime - Princess Tutu

Both ended up quite interesting. Princess Tutu ended up being a little philosophical, sort of like Sophie's World.

I went to JUSCO today! Like the hangout of Ichigo and everyone in Shimotsuma. I reckon it's like Youme Town in Yamaguchi. Except it had a cinema complex!!! omgosh movies!!!

I had takoyaki for lunch.

The first sakura bloomed yesterday; hurray!

So, movies. The Da Vinci Code was good. The story was easy to follow, even though I haven't read the book. But since all the information was new and I didn't know all the twists, perhaps it was more suspenseful and exciting than it would have been otherwise.
