Movies I've watched recently:
The Avengers - Joss Whedon dialogue is good. I liked the interaction between the Hulk's character and the Ironman guy. But Loki was a boring villain, and there wasn't enough substantial plot for me - don't really get into the "the whole ship/city is getting trashed" action scenes that composed the majority of the movie. Reminded me of Transformers. Yawn.
Prometheus - I forgot that Alien/Aliens were horror movies. Though somehow I don't think I found those movies as bad as the horror/gore in Prometheus. But the special effects and attention to detail were AMAZING - loved the panorama and the spaceship in the opening sequence. Enjoyed Charlize Theron and the redhead swedish actor from the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie. David the android was creepy.
Gran Turismo - Wasn't what I was expecting. Thought it was going to be a Clint Eastwood action western ("go ahead - make my day"), but instead was a study of life in an American suburb. Really enjoyed this movie, I would watch it again.
Across The Universe - It was ok, after a while the over-the-top musical sequences dragged on for me. And what was up with Prudence randomly appearing and disappearing? Apparently the writer wanted to expand on her story but didn't get to it. Still, fairly good. I liked Gran Turismo more.
To watch next:
Snow White and the Huntsman - more Charlize Theron, cool special effects and crows everywhere. Hopefully better than the "Alice in Wonderland" remake.
Brave - more redheads
