What's the last thing you wrote?
- 'desert tidal: quiet massacre and angst by the seashore' fic. sort of character essay really.

Was it any good?
- we'll see.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
- Drizzt fic, I still 'have it' in a sense, on ffn. I wrote SO MUCH dark elf fic and it just seems so sickeningly pretentious now.

Were they any good?
- see above.

Write poetry?
- limericks.

Angsty poetry?
- well sometimes the limericks are about hay... abandoned hay...

Favourite genre of writing?
- not really, I read by author and writing style.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
- Niou. you can hit him and hit him and hit him and he just won't shut up.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?
- Niou. same reason.

Best plot you ever wrote?
- *shifts uncomfortably* when you say 'ever wrote', can I include 'plotted, but did not actually write'? because I only recently discovered how to join all the good bits together.

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
- to be written. involves Niou. he's like that.

How often do you get writer's block?
- every day.

How do you fix it?
- procrastinate. :D;;;;;;

Write fan fiction?
- *waves*

Do you type or write by hand?
- YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME.

Do you save everything you write?
- to cringe at it later.

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
- if I stop cringing at it.

What's your favourite thing that you've written?
- original fic named after a placebo/bowie song. because. it's about the desert and the sea and a man almost named Priscilla, it was written an hour ago so I don't hate it to death yet, and it's named after a placebo/bowie song. :D!

What's everyone else's favourite thing that you've written?
- why are you asking ME? xD;;;

Do you even show people your work?
- some of it.

Who's your favourite constructive critic?
- my mother. if she likes it, it will have been good.

Do you have a web site for your writings?
- no.

Did you ever write a novel?
- three mariachis road trip from hell. absolutely no sense or point whatsoever.

Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
- yes, yes and no.

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
- hello Prince of Tennis!

What's your favourite setting for your characters?
- an island, the desert, the sea.

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
- horror. I am easily traumatized and cannot even read or watch horror.

How many writing projects are you working on right now?
- a couple fanfics. and a report.

Do you want to write for a living?
- yes. though I can see how it might be trying.

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
- school rag, fantasy ezine.

Have you ever won an award for your writing?
- see 'Do you type or write by hand?' for answer.

Ever written something in script or play format?
- we adapted the deadliest joke in the world skit from Monty Pyton's Flying Circus for a school play. it was smashing except our audience failed to get it. phillistines.

What are your five favourite words?
- mouth. apple. island. sand. warm. 'the' turns up more often though.

Do you ever parody?
- :DDDDDDDDD ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

What's your favourite thing to parody?
- oh dude, anything that moves.

Do you actually like that thing, or are you spitefully making fun of it?
- no spite. no point, luv.

Do you ever write based on yourself?
- a bit more than you think, and a lot less than that.

What character that you've written most resembles yourself?
- Kirihara! except, I am not cute. or good at tennis. or in fact what you should do is shake him upside down until all his good traits fall out and then make him female and take away his self-confidence and his beautiful, beautiful disregard of others' opinions. that would be an acceptable approximation.

Where do you get ideas for your other characters?
- dreams, and people who are not easily forgotten. real people are more fascinating though.

Do you ever write based on your dreams?
- yes, except the one where the dog ate my friend. I AM SO NOT GETTING A SALUKI ANY MORE. :O

Do you favour happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
- generally discontent endings. one exception: Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

Have you ever written based on an artwork you've seen?
- see BARSOOM.

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
- to the point of being anal. of course this means I write like a snail and end up with as many typos as before, anyway.

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
- no.

Entirely in L337?
- ahaha, I have trouble constructing one sentence of l33t, you think?

Was that question completely appalling and un-writer like?
- ... dude.

Does music help you write?
- yes and sometimes it's a reason to.

Do you have a weblog or livejournal?
- *waves*

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
- I don't. :D

Quote something you've written. The first thing to pop into your mind.
- 'Boys named Apple never really get over it. Ping Guo forgot for a while, because his classmates didn't understand Chinese, but in seventh grade his cousin (magnificently and safely named Dragon) translated, in public. Ping turned the colour of a Pink Lady and gave him as good a bruising as one boy half the size of the other may give, but everyone had already bitten, everybody knew.'

on the subject of writing, those of you who have not read Bruce Sterling's lexicon of SF writing should do so, even if you hate SF with blinding passion (you big antigeek, you).

on the subject of music, as one of my friends would put it, I'm listening to more stuff I can understand again, and it's, wow. like, 'and the way you used to kiss was / way out of sight / but I can never hope to set you free / cause you're my bittersweet bundle of misery'. <3.
