that was a fucking. amazing. match.
england defended to all ends of the earth. Beckham's free-kicks = ;o; the curl as it travels is impossible. Rooney far more impressive than Owen. Campbell, oh Campbell, understated but everywhere. and dear old Ashley Cole, every time he got the ball and charged down the left you pretty much have to resign yourself to the fact that he'll take it just where he bloody wants.
and now. the fangirly bit. OH PIRES OH ZIDANE OH LIZARAZU OH VIEIRA WOOOAAAH VIEIRA WOOOAAHH. OH GALLAS for that matter. he was running around in pain the whole match (well, to be honest you can never tell, but he kept it up for about 60 minutes so I assume it was real). Barthez continued to be a clown, but occasionally a hero - is it really a sign now that Gallic nosebleeds forecast victory? xD;; - Titi, dear darling infuriating Titi, why he is still, after all these awful performances, my favourite player ever, I have no idea. absolutely useless in the first half and okay redeeming in the second and his footwork is love forgotten and forbidden cast down from seven separate stars, but, um, paging Thierry Henry, you are STARTING the match for a reason. >:E
in summary:
- Zidane is god.
- Rooney is damn good but a thug. that elbow was absolutely disgraceful. at least be elegant about it, man.

- Trezeguet looks like a mongoose! I had the face in my head a while, not the name. xD
- Vieira and Cole bringing each other down was terrible. I itched to smack them.
- Heskey is HUGE. :O I could pick him out from the entire field the minute he came on.
- Lizarazu is fucking adorable. I wanted to hug him half the time he was buzzing around like an ickle bee. he reminded me so much of Ljungberg WHO IS PLAYING TOMORROW :DDD
- Zidane is god.
if anyone wonders why I am supporting the French team. um. it's like supporting Arsenal, but now they speak French all the time. and the goalkeeper is a clown xD;;
and now for something completely different, since not everyone likes football. he's nameless until I find an aesthetic translation for 'waterless' in hanxi. waterless, because he is from the desert, but the desert is really just another sea.
