"Maud Gonne, After" has sold to Mythic Delirium! The Futurdaze: An Anthology of YA Science Fiction book trailer went live this week. I am very excited about this project, particularly since I can bring it into my classroom and spread it widely among my educator colleagues. My poem "Speech Lessons", about an alien receiving speech-language therapy, will appear. Available February 2013.

A shortened round-up of the week; being the second week of pre-planning, last Sunday's goals were not exactly met. However:

• one major grad school assignment was finished and submitted; the literature review is 1/3 finished, waiting for additional articles to arrive through inter-library loan
• a few words were added to "The Great Gate"; much thought ( Read more... )

In an attempt to postpone grad school reading - which is delightful and invigorating, yet so long, le sigh - I did a random google of myself.

Along with showing some amazing pyrotechnic photos, a wonderful artist/writer/chemist in New Mexico gave "The Beekeeper's Daughter" a shout-out on her blog Ink & Alchemy.  Someone I do not know!

My poem "The Dryad, on Marrying the Oak" has been accepted for the first issue of Through the Gate.  This new magazine, edited by mitchell_hart founder of inkscrawl, is slated to appear in August.

Last summer, I wrote an odd poem about the cow from "Jack and the Beanstalk".  Titled "Milky White", after said cow, this poem wandered about in search of a home.

Today, Paper Crow contacted me with an acceptance letter!

I'm beginning to feel more confident about this "follow your bliss" endeavor.

While struggling to wake up this morning, delightful news arrived with my coffee.  My poem "Asteroid Orphan" has been accepted for the March 2013 print issue of Aoife's Kiss by Sam's Dot Publishing.

I am most decidedly happy.  :)
