I had a great day with my family. Ice skating with Steve’s 3 girls, then they helped me cook veggie shepard’s pie, which turned out to be a big hit. The youngest, Emma, has developed a taste for mashing the hell out of potatos. She starts timidly, but she really likes it, so I encourage her by saying ”Kill! I really like the way my cousin Clara thinks. Until she was 3, she lived in a log cabin with no running water or electricity. Hauling water to the house, etc. Then she and her brother moved to Monte Verde in Costa Rica. Small town, raised goats, travel by foot and bike, monkeys in the back yard ( Read more... )

so last night I was reelgated to the closed-off section of the house, displaced by my uncle and 3 kids who ended up all sleeping in the same (other) room anyway. The only actual bedroom back there doesn't have heat, so space heater. Temp was no worse than Autum camping. Unfortunatly, no one has used that bed for years, so very musty bed. ICK.
