One of my favorite tools in Adobe Photoshop is the eye-dropper. It's a neat little gizmo that allows you to sample a color from anywhere on an image, and then use that color in your palette. I would like a PDA-style, real world color sampler. It would have some sort of spectragraphic stylus that you could touch to a surface and sample it's color. ( Read more... )

This was totally the plot deviced used by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird to resurrect the Shredder in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Return to New York (issues 19-21) storyline.

While proponents of Intelligent Design pretend to be scientists, this is not the case. Intelligent design does not meet the accepted standards of the scientific community for being a scientific theory. There is a concept in the philosophy of science of falsifiability.

Acuvue soft contact lenses have amazing regenerative powers. I somehow managed to miss the saline-filled cup when taking out my right lens last night, and found it a shrivelled husk this morning. Figuring it couldn't hurt, I gingerly placed it in the case with a fresh squirt of saline. Lacking a replacement, I wore my glasses to work and got lots ( Read more... )

I was so bummed about the Beagle probe crashing, this kinda makes up for it. Superficially, I suppose they're not really related, but I equate them in the "triumph of the human spirit" vein. And he didn't even have any endorsements from Warner Bros.
