Laura and I are rather pleased with Recettear (pronounced Reck-ket-tear, I think). It's a clever, fun little game; it is essentially a lightweight JRPG, but you play the Genki Girl owner of the item shop rather than Generically Brooding Warrior Dude.

I tend to put a lot of thought into my RPG character backstories, even in MMOs, where backstory is largely irrelevant. ( I've put it behind the cut for those of you who don't give a damn about somebody else's lame hero fantasies. )

I just pre-ordered two copies of Dragon Age: Origins- one for me, and one for ladyhuntingwolf. The super-duper-ultra-mega-swag Collector's Edition, because I can't even remember what it feels like to be ashamed of my fanboy geekiness.
