Yesterday our shul's 50+ social group observed Christmas (Eve) in the traditional manner of American Jews: Chinese dinner and a movie. Dinner was at Charles Plaza (yes, that's the name of the restaurant), and it was excellent and reasonably priced.

(Posted after finding, and while downloading, Nikon software so I can offload the pictures from DAUGHTER's old camera, which otherwise will probably be lost to battery failure and Murphy's Law ere she shall return from Japan. (I guess that music is affecting me.)

Each year as the Chri$tmas season approaches, I find the honest sentiments of many people, believers and otherwise, largely swamped by commercialism and, worst of all, too much Christmas music on the radio and in public places. William Studwell's Christmas Carols of the Year series

The Northern Illinois University professor emeritus picked a Christmas carol to feature each year since 1986. What follows are his 25 years of carols, including "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" for 2010, which Studwell chose before he passed away in August.
