In addition to my latent parenting angst, an old & good & amazing friend died suddenly over the weekend. He had a heart attack. I am about 3/4 done with Christmas shopping. I have to get another present for Mr T, and something for my youngest niece, and something for my mom. I have no idea what to get her. I found this video really heartbreaking.

We just found out that one of our cats, Greenie, is dead.

A neighbor came and rang the doorbell and said he'd found her body around 5.30 am this morning. She had been run over by a car.

I am so sad. Greenie was Tosh's sister and Snoozy & Missy's daughter. She was extremely soft and very sociable, friendly and curious. She always liked to snuggle up ( Read more... )

I am sure that everyone on my flist (especially the other moms) will be relieved to hear that I got in touch with the guidance counselor at T's school, and she was able to tell me that he has been "matched" with the school I wanted. Right now I feel like my life is one giant, gasping sob. OTOH ... these things happen. I really, really wanted Sandy to be OK though.

When I told him, T said "it's the circle of life, mom."

Either he's really well-adjusted or he's a sociopath. I'm hoping for the former.

One of my cats, Sandy, just had a seizure and died. I'm kind of in shock. He's the same cat who was hit by a car in November and lost an eye. He was born in our house last March and then was abandoned on the street by the people we gave him to. Luckily we found him again and took him in but he hadn't learned to be cautious around cars, I guess.
