Phew
I am sure that everyone on my flist (especially the other moms) will be relieved to hear that I got in touch with the guidance counselor at T's school, and she was able to tell me that he has been "matched" with the school I wanted. So yay, they wanted him, I don't have to get them to take him out of pity or anything.
