Weeks ago, our friends Chris and Yuri started restoring a house here in Five Points. They removed a brick chimney and gave away all of the bricks. Andy and I didn't hesitate to go get a truck bed FULL of bricks to use as garden paths. We're determined to have a kick-ass yard that won't cost us an arm and a leg...and free bricks definitely help ( Read more... )

We've been walking more...basically anytime it's nice outside. I love all of the early Spring blossoms, and get excited to see new sprouts on winter twigs. I'm hoping it will be nice on one of our off days and I can take out the Mamiya. My dad passed me down that camera and I've been so anxious to use it!

Yesterday Andy and I went on a long walk around Five Points and downtown to hang fliers for Record Store Day. It was such a nice walk, and the city looked beautiful with all of Spring in the air! It felt nice taking a break of photographing subjects who knew they were being shot, and focusing on the unsuspecting flowers and houses throughout ( Read more... )

Even though it is snowing outside right now, I still have Spring on my mind. Maybe cause I hear it's supposed to be in the 60's on my birthday (next week) so I'm really looking forward to that! It's so easy to clean when the windows are open, a breeze is flowing, music is playing, and sun is shining. We cleaned the entire downstairs, top to bottom. I'm also noting that we now only clean with white distilled vinegar (sometimes with baking soda)...so cheap, and does a much better job than commercial cleaners that are filled with yucky ( Read more... )

Today Andy and I went to one of my favorite places, Bennett Nurseries. We were hoping to find some veggies, but I guess it's a bit early. So, we bought a bunch of seeds to start indoors and a few pretty plants. This year we are hoping to get our raised beds built and began laying out the garden.
