I mispoke (miswrote?) yesterday. Its actually 75 degrees outside today and beautiful. Everyone is out with their dogs, playing kickball in the park or just walking. It made me want a dog for about 10 seconds because annabella has never taken well to a leash. I even saw what I think was a tai chi lesson in the park but I can't be sure.

They closed the University that I worked at because of the damn weather! Of course due to the weirdness of University bureaucracy, they offically closed at 3pm but didn't send out an email until 3:30. Yesterday i was sitting in my office and I realized how comfortable the temperature was inside since it was ungoly hot outside. I was awoken this morning at 7 a.m to my lovely boyfriend telling me that he had a sore throat and wasn't feeling well. Um, I'm sorry about that and all but why did you need to wake me up to tell me? You know what really sucks? Being awoken at 5-something AM this morning by TORNADO SIRENS. Apparently there were "strong thunderstorms with rotation".

I really have more questions than answers on this one:

Why does this warrant a siren?
Did anyone actually see a tornado?
Why do I live in a place that has tornadic activity on January 2nd?

I just read an article about how the 2" of snow that we just got caused all kinds of traffic problems - a 15 car pile-up, weather forecasters calling the road a "demolition derby"? hee. If there is one thing I learned in Minnesota, its how to drive in snow. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my fellow drivers in St. Louis ( Read more... )

I know it's finally fall for 2 reasons:

1. I had the heater on in the car this morning instead of the a/c

2. Mr. P woke me up 2 nights ago to ask about a blanket b/c he was actually cold (unbelievable!)

I am natually very pleased about the change in weather since I pretty much haven't adjusted to the summers here. Maybe after 4 or 5 years I will!
