They closed the University that I worked at because of the damn weather! Of course due to the weirdness of University bureaucracy, they offically closed at 3pm but didn't send out an email until 3:30. For some unknown reason my manager took a call from someone in the provost's office around 3:00 pm so we knew about the closure then. Of course until we heard the "official" word we couldn't do anything. I kept working and actually saw a student at 3:30.
I finally left just before 4 only to realize that I didn't have an ice scraper! I was a little embarassed b/c there is no way that a credit card is going to touch the inch of ice on my car. I used to have such nice scrapers when I lived in Minnesota and they pretty much stayed in the car with me all the time. Luckily a woman who parks next to me offered up her co-worker who scraped both of our cars. Usually she is not very nice to me so it was cool to see this change of heart. It reminds me of why I <3 St. Louis.
40 minutes later I was home (my drive is usually around 10-15 minutes) and I don't know if the roads are icy or not. I never got to drive fast enough to see. They are still predicting 4-8 inches of snow so we will see what happens.
