Woohoo...I finished my Flexner Report PowerPoint at 11.43 pm. I still haven't figured out what I'm going to say exactly, but I'm sitting at work with NOTHING TO DO. So I'll think about it now. I  forgot the most important thing:  I have discovered a new Georgette Heyer mystery!!!  Woohoo!

Apparently, it was not printed in the US until 1969 and Grandma (from whom I discovered G.H.) acquired her G.H.s prior to that.  Thus...no Duplicate Death.  I'm quite thrilled to have found it, as this is the sequel(ish) to They Found Him Dead, so we ( Read more... )

So I spent yesterday afternoon reading Chromosome-6, which was utterly dreadful.  It was doubly dreadful coming on top of my discussion with the Dad of what makes a good mystery novel.  Blah.  And I imagine that the "discussion" in class tonight will be light.  We're not into discussing, apparently, in that class.

I am utterly shattered.  I have just finished Silent in the Grave, purchased on a whim and half-price sale at audible.   I am blown away.  Deanna Raybourn is a genius, really.
