Today was a nice day, and I had planned to get up fairly early and Do Things, but that was kind of sabotaged by waking up at five (which was a bit too early) with period pains. Well, varying success. I managed to make a conditioner that looked OK, although by the time I got into the shower and used it, it seemed to have thinned a bit. My hair is very soft and not fly-away at all after using it, but when I had brushed it out there were hardly any waves in it at all. Something I have noticed is that I seem to be shedding much less hair. I cleaned out my hairbrush thoroughly last week, and it should be full of hair again by now. (Seriously, I'm usually quite dismayed by the amount of hair I seem to shed every day.) But it isn't. I just realised something stupid. My hand cream (Fenuril) contains liquid paraffin, among other things. So if I wash my hair, then put on hand cream, and then scrunch my still-wet hair with my hands, I'm putting mineral oils in it, even though I've excluded shampoos and all conditioners containing that stuff ( Read more... )
