How Miserable R U?(UPDATED!)

Yesterday I went home, but not without a few problems. To begin with, packing took longer than I thought it would. By the time Mom and Dad came to get me, I was down to the rubble stage (stuffed that could just be stuffed in boxes), so Mom helped with that while Dad moved all the stuff I had packed up already, whether to the car or the trunk room. Mom also dusted all the furniture while I cleaned the shower (as the first person out of the suite, that was my task). We made the checkout time, just barely, and passed (even the shower, which I was worried about. The RA scraped it with a razor). He found a few things that could've been better, but broke some of the wall himself by pulling off a hook that was attached with an adhesive that's supposed to be stretched off (I forget what they're called, but 3M makes them). Finally, I forgot about my community task, so I had to do that before we left. It was just wiping the tables in the Heyns basement, seven in all, and with Mom and Dad helping, we were done in just 3 minutes.
Out on the road, we were all pretty hungry, being 1:30 by now, so we went to Arby's. No one got the Potroast Sandwich, on my urging (that thing is nasty!), though I don't think either Mom or Dad actually wanted it.
Lots of traveling, a few rest stops, and attempts to sleep marked the rest of the day, until we reached the hotel in London, Ontario, around 6. Mom had been gushing about it all day (and last night, when she called), and I have to say, it was a really nice room. Two TVs, a closed off living room area, two doors to the bathroom, all sorts of nice stuff. The hotel was right next to a chinese buffet, so we ate there. The whole time, they must have been playing a movie themes CD, since we knew every song playing in the background, and most of them were from movies. After dinner, we went to the mall, mainly to go to to Northern Reflections to buy omiyage T-shirts for everyone back home (and one for me, too). Then we hopped back to the hotel, just in time for American Idol. I loved that Paula/Simon thing, especially the two twists at the end. Now, as much as I like Rueben, I would have liked for Clay to win. Mom says that Rueben won because he had a more eclectic fanbase (her actual words were that no black people voted for Clay).
Once American Idol was over, I showered, and we all went to bed.

This morning, we all got up at 5 am, and were out of the hotel by 5:30. Mom's idea was to stop for breakfast when the sun got in Dad's eyes, but he wanted to eat at the McDonald's where we usually eat on this leg of the trip (we usually stay at the hotel right by it), so that's what we did. After that, we stopped at a rest stop every hour on the hour, for Mom's sake more than anyone else's, except for when we stopped for lunch.
We were back in CT by 5 pm, and picked up Beck from Grammie's house (she was very glad to leave, after spending the past few days teaching Grammie how to use a computer). We had to get her home so she could straighten Stacy's hair before the student banquet (she's a chaperone, but still gets to dress up). We started watching My Neighbor Totoro while she did that (very cute anime ^_^). After she left, the rest of us went to the chinese buffet in town. We finished MNT after we got back. Beck has now decided that we'll all cosplay as Totoros at next year's Otakon.
While listening to the new Weird Al CD (which I listened to 3 times on the way home), Beck and I played Uno. She won 3 games, and I figured I'd better quit while I was only behind a little. Once the CD was over (love "A Complicated Song" and "Bob" ^_^), we played Scattergories, but our round ended as a tie, so we played another round, which I won.
At the moment, we're watching Who's Line is it Anyway. I think I've seen this one...
