They really have never tried to get too Lovecraftian with Starro. A cosmic entity from the stars in the form of a giant sea creatue, who can possess the minds of humans. It is a wonder not many modern writers have explored the parallels. Perhaps that is a good thing they have not completely stripped him of his Silver Age cheesy charm though.
