Nashville is a city with lots of venue and convention space, but only once a year we get a half assed dealer driven comic con (that is also a horror convention?). Just looking around the internet. I have seen a few incidents where hanged Halloween displays have been coming under fire in the aftermath of the Jena 6 controversy. Normally I would defend common sense, obviously the hangman display for Halloween is common. Hanged figures were an element in Gothic Horror.
