I knew election night that I was going to the inauguration.  How could I not?  I have been watching Obama's career since his 2004 DNC speech.  It was electrifying, sincere, poetic, and true.  Many other people have since experienced the his power of a well spoken person and the well-written speech.

What a great weekend I had. I went to DC again so Allison and I could go the Smithsonian Folk Festival on the Washington Mall. It was important to me to go to this since one of the features of the festival was the country of Bhutan.

On May 17th at 11:30 in the morning, I became an aunt!  Little Kairi (Ky-ree) Kay is 7lbs 3oz and already sucking her thumb.

Everything is falling into place.  Today was the first time since I left college where I have said to myself, "This is exactly where I'm supposed to be--this time, this place, this path."  In the past two weeks I have visited two university graduate programs and decided on one, reconnected with old friends and settled in with some new ones, learned ( Read more... )

I'm writing this now from Virginia.  My new job starts tomorrow and I'm pretty excited about it.  Shenandoah National Park is a beautiful place and I just know things will go well.  The cross-country drive to Virginia with my dad was uneventful, which is to say that it went very well.  We had good weather all the way and saw plenty of the farming ( Read more... )

I received word today that I got into Binghamton University!  I also found out last week that I got into the University of Maryland as well.  I also have a job at Shenandoah National Park so I will be staying with my grandpa this summer and deciding which school to go to!  I have so many plans for this summer, I'm so excited!  My dad is flying out ( Read more... )
