Saturday I went to Geek.Kon with duncanid, her girls, RHDS, and two of the girls' friends. We met up with bipagan and she wore a breast-baring shirt just for me. That's real love! We went to Irish Fest today and RHDS took 3rd place in the Red Hair Contest! He was so excited, especially since he only enters for the cookie that all the participants get. I have been trying to get RHDS interested in gymnastics for a while. The kid is super bendy and has more energy than a chihuahua on crack, so I thought it would be a good thing for him to get into. I was going to hold off on posting about RHDS' MRI until we had gotten some results, but we haven't yet. He was awesome. Behaved really well except for a minor bit of squirrelliness after sitting around for an hour and a half before the procedure. Once they gave him the Versed, he got really funny. We're in the process of refinancing our house. The loan we're getting is an FHA loan, which requires that there be no pealing paint on houses built before 1978 (due to lead issues). We had started working on repainting the porch, but we had only gotten through the power washing and partial scraping phase when the appraiser came out. He couldn't ( Read more... )

I just made my son a peanut butter and chocolate syrup sandwich, with chocolate/strawberry milk to drink and Cool Ranch Doritos on the side. All of which he asked for.

He's a freak. Just like his parents.

Had a fairly productive day today. I got to sleep in for the first time in weeks, perhaps months. Then the Family Z went out to Menard's to pick up 50' of coaxial cable, a toilet seat and a bathroom faucet. After that it was lunch at IHOP, where RHDS got to have Who Cakes and a Beezlenut Spash. RHDS is apparently training for his teen years. Either that, or he's going through another growth spurt. He's begun eating like a fiend again, and in (comparatively) large quantities. Four toaster waffles in the morning has become the norm, occasionally he gets up to 6. A snack after school, and larger portions at dinner follow. He's a skinny ( Read more... )

RHDS lost another tooth today. He was quite pleased and insisted that I take a picture right away to send to zman923. He then proceeded to tell every animal we have in the house that he lost a tooth. While there are times that I want to throttle him, it's times like this morning that allow him to live.
