Weekend joy

Saturday I went to Geek.Kon with duncanid, her girls, RHDS, and two of the girls' friends. We met up with bipagan and she wore a breast-baring shirt just for me. That's real love! I got to snuggle with her and her breasts for a while before she headed off to a panel. We wandered a bit, checked out the vendors, saw some folks with mad DDR skills and way more energy than a person should be allowed, and generally had a good time. The kids got a bit evil as the day progressed, but they weren't all bad. After we left the con, we headed over to Pegasus Games to check out what they had, since they were offering a discount to con goers. I got an expansion for Carcassone that I had been looking for and that was about it. We then headed to buy fabric for dice bags for the girls' birthday party and to get trim for the dresses I'm sewing for them for duncanid's brother's wedding. Got some nifty crocheted lace for High Maintenance Twin and really cool black velvet ribbon with diamond shaped jewel thingies on it for Skater Wannabe Twin. After Joann's, it was down the sidewalk to Rogan's Shoes for wedding shoes for the girls. Rogan's was having a buy one get one half off sale, and we found shoes for both girls. In all, a productive afternoon. After all that, we came home and started dinner. duncanid and I were pretty cooked and ready to kill some children, which they must have realized, since they were hanging out in the basement being very quiet while waiting for dinner. After dinner we sent the kids to bed and watched "Fringe", since mine didn't record for some reason.

Sunday morning we got up ungodly early to have pancakes before RHDS and I needed to leave. We tried Batter Blaster pancake batter in a Redi-Wip can. While the kids liked it, I don't recommend it. The pancakes ended up really thin and chewy. Very not my thing. The idea is cool, but the batter was less than spectacular tasting.

After breakfast, RHDS and I headed home for a few minutes, then hit the road again to go to my godson's birthday party. It was a good time. Pizza, cake, ice cream, and a bounce house. I had a very happy (and ultimately very tired) little boy. I don't get to spend nearly enough time with Jenn and Sean, so I always enjoy hanging out with them when I can. We got home just as zman923 did, which made RHDS even happier.

Yesterday my parents came over and my dad and Z put in a new faucet in the tub and a new storm door on the front door. The old storm door was the kind with glass louvers and no screen, so we couldn't leave the door open when there were bugs out or at night, since the moths would fly in. The new one is much nicer. We've been meaning to replace it pretty much since we moved in 11 years ago. After all the work was done, we picked up the kid from school and took my parents out to dinner at Golden Corral. Mom and Dad left after dinner and we came home to give RHDS his final birthday present, Lego Batman for the Wii. The boys played that until it was time for the kid to go to bed, then Z got to play with his new game, Force Unleashed. Two happy boys and their new toys.
