So my computer died Monday night. Just up and died. No clue. No explanation. Just poof! The good thing is my firm has two laptops and I was coming back through DC this week anyway, so I only had to go a few days without Internet. But my was it tortuous, especially at work where we rely upon email and the Intenet to maintain our sanity. Without it, I got hooked on crossword puzzles. And I am appallingly bad. :P
In the meantime, without a computer or Internet access, I finished The Da Vinci Code and started Angels and Demons. I also got hooked on Project Runway last night when there was nothing else to watch on TV - Jeff is such an @ss! More importantly, I met
jennlynnfs! I have now met all the So. Cal. Dwiggies. *jumps up & down* I've known Jenn a long time and we've sent about a bajillion emails back and forth, so it was nice to finally meet her. She and her husband M are wonderful! And I even got to meet their unborn child. I met the whole fam! ;)
Of other interest, I finally found a good bagel! My brother had recommended
H&H Bagels, but I don't live near their stores. Yesterday though, on my way to work, I walked by a deli shop and noticed they had a sign that said, "We only serve H&H bagels." So I checked it out. YUM! I brought one back for my brother and maybe that'll help persuade him to let me drive us home tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow morning.
I'm back in DC now - caught the 7 a.m. train so I was up early! - and it is so nice to be here. It's so much better than NYC. If they could switch their weather it would be perfect. Stopped by the office this morning, switched laptops so hopefully all will be well next week, and now I'm back in my place. I've got to do a load of laundry, run to the Korean grocery store for my mom, vacuum, pay bills, and hopefully squeeze in a nap in case we drive home tonight. My sister's wedding's on Sunday, which is why I'm back here this weekend, and two of my aunts from Taiwan are visiting with their family as are two cousins from CA. I'd really like to go home tonight, and I think my mom would prefer it too, but my brother is putting in a full day of work and then driving 4 hours from his place to mine. Not sure if he'll want to sit in a car for 2 more hours even if he doesn't have to drive.
As for the wedding . . . let's hope there are no fireworks! :P
