Chapter Six

Yuya sighed as he delivered all the letters and files to their destination. Why? Because everyone kept on referring to him as Baito-kun. ‘I have a name, damn it!’ he thought, sulking a little to himself.

He proceeded to deliver the next parcel.

Akanishi Akihiko it said.

Yuya shrugged and went to the 30th floor where this Akihiko’s office is located.

He waited patiently for the elevator and when it stopped, he immediately walked in, colliding with another person who was taking off. All files and folders he was carrying scattered due to the impact.

“I’m so sorry.” Yuya immediately kneeled down to get the fallen papers.

“Are you alright?” the worried voice asked.

Yuya can see the other kneeling and helped him pick some of the documents. “I’m okay.”

“You should really look where you’re going,” the kind voice suddenly turned haughty. “Kamenashi-kun.”

“I’m not this Kamenashi person.” Yuya stood up and politely answered the stranger.

“Right… you’re…” The man paused and stared at Yuya for a bit. “If you’re not Kamenashi, then who are you?” he asked, handing the folders and envelopes back to Yuya.

Yuya shook his head in annoyance. “I said I’m no t Kamenashi. My name’s Yuya Ishida. The real question here is who are you?”

The man snorted. “Figures that his look alike would be rude and not know me too.” The man muttered softly, clearly not amused. “The name’s Jin. Akanishi Jin.”

“Great. Nice meeting you, Akanishi Jin-san.” Yuya answered. “Please excuse me I have to deliver these files.” Yuya smiled politely, careful not to offend the man. He rode the elevator but Jin stopped the door from closing.

“Wait. What department are you from?”

“From advertising sir.” Yuya answered.

“New employee?”

“New part timer, sir.”

Jin grinned predatorily, a great idea forming in his mind. “Cool. I’ll be contacting you soon through your boss.”

Yuya was confused but nodded nonetheless. “Okay…” he waived a little when the doors closed.

Jin strode purposely into his office, calling out for Takaki’s attention as he did so.

“Sir?”

“For being a loyal employee, I have a great proposal for you.”

Takaki looked mildly interested and waited for his boss to continue.

“You mentioned before that you liked the idea of studying English?”

Takaki nodded. “Uh… but I still don’t have enough savings to do that sir.”

Jin smiled graciously. “Well, you don’t have to wait until you’ve saved enough money.”

Takaki looked more confused. “What do you mean sir?”

“Well, I’m sending you to New York for a year. I’d like you to be an official representative for the Akanishi Corporation while learning English. Can you handle that responsibility while studying?”

“Why… why me?”

“Like I said, because you’ve been a really loyal employee and I see real potential in you.” Jin sat on his executive chair, with his hands in akimbo. “So, do you want to take the offer or not?”

“I… don’t know sir. It’s just too good to be true.”

“Well, you better believe it.” Jin shrugged. “Don’t worry about the expenses - the company will fully pay for your education.

Upon hearing the assurance of not having to pay anything, Takaki immediately perked up. “Sure, I would love to take that offer!”

Jin smiled. “Good. Then have your things and passport ready. You’ll leave first thing next week.” He dismissed the man.

Takaki nodded and exited the office with a big grin.

‘Good. First step done.’ Jin thought. ‘Advertising was it?’ he thought and picked the phone up and dialed Nino’s extension.

“Oi Jin.” Nino answered. “What up?”

“Hey, I was wondering about this new part timer in your department.”

“Part timer?” Nino frowned. “I’m not really sure who you’re talking about. Maybe it would be best if you talk to HRD?”

Jin snorted. “I don’t want to talk to MatsuJun.”

Nino laughed. “Well, he’s the only person who can help you locate employees, you know?”

Jin whined. “But I don’t want to talk to him!”

“You’re cousins with him, for goodness’ sake!”

“But he’ll just tease me about things.”

“Okay… but you’re the big boss.” Nino reasoned out. “You can just fire him or something if he starts tormenting you.”

“Yes, I am. That’s why I need you to give me the details of this certain part timer.” Jin said arrogantly. “Or there’s always that option you gave me you know?” he grinned when Nino sighed.

“Fine. What’s his name?”

“Ishida Yuya. Give me al the details about him… his background and educational attainment.”

“You’ll have the details on you desk this afternoon. Why the sudden interest in this Ishida Yuya?”

“The post for my secretary will be vacant and I’m planning on getting Aunt Mary’s assistant so Aki will have no one to help him.”

“You’re planning on replacing Kamenashi-kun for some part timer? That’ll be a big loss to the marketing department!”

“You know Kamenashi?”

“Yeah, he’s my kouhai in high school. We were on the same baseball team.”

“Oh.”

“So, to continue, Kamenashi? You’re taking Kamenashi from the marketing to do administrative work for you?”

“Yeah, why not?”

“But…”

“No buts. Are you questioning my decision?”

“Well… no. oh well, you’re the boss. Look, I have a meeting in a few minutes so I’ll hang up now, okay. I’ll ask Masaki-kun to look for this Ishida Yuya.”

“Great. Thanks, Nino-kun.”

Aki sighed while arranging the files on his table.

Kame, seeing the other sigh, laughed. “Why the long face?”

“I can’t believe these are documents Mary-obachan looked after each and every day!”

“That’s not true.”

“What is not? Mary-san not looking after these documents or me not believing she can do all of these in one day?”

Kame snorted. “Both of your guesses.” He placed another document on top of the already high stack of folders. “It’s only because it’s the quarter ending. You have to review everything and submit it to the big boss for study.”

Aki shook his head in disbelief. “Now, that’s another thing I can’t believe. How does niichan do all these work?”

Kame shrugged. “Because he’s inhuman?” he said sarcastically.

Aki laughed. “Why is it that you hate my brother so much?”

“I don’t hate him.” Kame denied. “I just can’t get along well with him.”

“That’s the same thing!”

“It’s not! And I can’t hate him - he’s the reason why I have a job and can pay for my bills.”

“It’s not me?” Aki joked.

“Nope, it’s not you.” Kame smiled. “But kidding aside, you really have to finish reviewing and signing all these documents. I don’t want to have a repeat session with your brother. That’s an experience that I can live without.” He said, referring to the…

“Fine!” Aki sighed. “I’ll do it for you.” He said charmingly and returned to reading the document he was skimming awhile ago.”

“Do you want coffee?” Kame offered.

“No… just orange juice please.”

“Ryoukai.” Kame exited Aki’s office to get what his boss wanted.

“You get along so well with the younger Akanishi-kun.” Baru cited. “Very unlike with the older Akanishi.”

Kame laughed. “That’s because we like each other.”

“And Akanishi Jin doesn’t like you?”

Kame shrugged. “I would believe so, yes.”

“Then that doesn’t explain the fact that he requested to have you moved to be his personal secretary.” Baru frowned.

“Huh? Aren’t you mistaking things? I am Akanishi's secretary - Akihiko’s, that is.”

Baru shook his head. “No. Look,” he turned his head a few times to ensure no one was eavesdropping on them. “I was able to talk to Ninomiya this afternoon. He mentioned about Jin being a brat for asking him to look for this person who will soon become Akihiko’s secretary.”

“What?” Kame’s eyes widened. “Masaka… he’s not planning on terminating me, right?”

Baru hit Kame’s forehead. “Were you not following our conversation?!”

“Huh?”

“I said earlier in response to your answer if Jin hates you and you said he does… that wouldn’t explain the fact that he wants you to be his personal secretary!”

“Whaaaaat?!” Kame reacted. “Baru, that’s not true, right?” Kame’s mind was filled with gruesome thoughts of why AJ wants him to be his secretary. ‘Does… will he take advantage of me again?’ he thought. ‘Is… is this his way to separate Aki and me? Why is he so against our friendship anyway?’

“Kame?” Subaru waived his right hand to get Kame’s attention. “Kame!” he lightly tapped Kame’s cheek.

“Oh Baru, what will I do? Should I just resign? I don’t want to work for that… for that… that man!” Kame would have said more colorful words to describe Jin but speak of the devil; the older man was walking towards them.

WITH A BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE.

“Hi,” Jin smiled in greeting. “Is Aki in?” he asked politely, his question directed at Kame.
