Well, that's that.  I'm as graduated as a cylinder.  Photos to follow.  My parents were there on both days, and they gave me a bouquet of pink roses and snapdragons. negothick  came for the weekend, and I was very glad she was there.  She gave me a big bundle of excellent books.  More on this later.

Guys, I did it.  This afternoon, I uttered a hoarse yell and sprang at the last of my online French homework and finished it off, days ahead of deadline.  I would dislike this homework program even if I was a language buff, which I'm not.  It had frustratingly little to do with my language comprehension, and every week it was sitting there eyeing ( Read more... )

Notes on The Perfect Heresy and its subject matter.  The end result will hopefully be an academic book review for my teacher on Tuesday.  I find that LJ-posting about something is much like giving a talk about it: I wind up understanding the topic better myself.  Behind a cut because not everyone is interested in Catharism.

...but I want to join a writers' group.  I've been meaning to do that for years, off and on, and I've toyed with local writers' workshops.  Viable Paradise did me a lot of good back in 2004, as I recall.  What I want now is not a teacher/student environment, but a circle of participants who all meet once a month or so to read one another what they' ( Read more... )
