SIFF has a bunch of "unusual" classics in December:

• They're starting off with The Wizard of Oz the weekend of Dec. 3-5. However for the 9:30 shows on the 3rd and 4th, they're replacing the regular soundtrack with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to create the much-fabled Dark Side of Oz! Well, this is going to be interesting: The McGuire, a nine year old highrise apartment at 2nd and Wall, is coming down later this year. Apparently, there were fundamental flaws in construction, and it's cheaper to raze the building and start over than remediate in place. Jan. 1, 2000: Computers everywhere continued working mostly as expected, so no need to go in on the weekend. Uncle Bonsai (with Patrice O'Neill replacing the retired Ashley O'Keeffe in the O'Sopran role) is playing their usual October show at the KPC, Nov. 21. Any of the usual suspects up for group seating before I lock down a solo ticket?

SIFF has wrapped up for another year, which means I'm likely to be more visible with something other than updates on what movie I'm seeing today. Over the course of the last three-and-a-half weeks, I saw a total of 40 feature-length movies and ten packages of shorts (plus one feature and one shorts package outside the festival proper).
