Hooray! A shiny, new range!
Mom and Dad bought a new range today. I was positively stoked since I'm the one that's stuck cooking in this household.
Our old one's stove portion is consistently off anywhere between 25-75oF. The burners would all continue to make that 'tick' sound like it does when lighting but would continue to do it on all of them for several minutes after lighting either of the front burners. The front left burner would completely go out at random intervals, and the broiler hasn't worked in years. The first and only time it was used, it cracked the bottom of the oven and it had to be replaced.
In short, it's the ugly, grouchy, bondo-ed appliance of the kitchen.
I've been hinting about wanting a new one for years and then the stars all aligned for me. Louisiana's having a tax free weekend which means they didn't have to pay state or local tax, Lowes was having a 20% off sale on their kitchen appliances, they also offer a 10% discount for military (active or retired) by showing their military card, and they have free delivery and haul away. Mom and Dad ended up saving a couple hundred dollars.
And I have a shiny, new range coming in on Monday.

Now all I need to do is work on my plan to kidnap Paula Deen and chain her to the kitchen. Bwhahahaha!
