Things, things, things and stuff, stuff stuff...ak.

So basically I'm about to write the longest entry in the history of my life... That's what I get for missing about three or so eventful days in my life. Although, eventful, when used in the context of 'my life', is really an overstatement.

My mom and I drove down to San Jose State University.
We had set up an appointment for a campus tour, so we went on that. I ended up pretty apathetic all throughout the tour. And of course, you keep telling yourself that the people who lead the tours are usually towards the top of the class and not necessarily a representative of the campus population. The campus was a manageable size. It seemed pretty good, actually. They just built a new dorm complex, too. There were four other girls on the tour with us, their parents there as well. Two were thinking about transferring, all smiling to themselves and joking with the tour leader. Another of the girls was from Colorado and asked whether or not it snowed there or if they had a ski club. *facepalm* My mom and I joked quite a bit about that in the car afterwards. The other girl had simply just come late and stayed pretty quiet. I was the one at the front of the tour smiling at all the jokes our tour leader told and laughing to my mom about silly things. I always need someone to turn and laugh to. Life wouldn't be the same without that. Anyways, after that general, bland campus tour was done, my mom and I went into the music building. Down the hall was an office and we went in. They were quite eager to say hello to me. They asked what instrument I played with such interest, too. I said piano and, with a weak laugh, some guitar. They oooh-ed and commented "A pianist!". I guess that's better then some voice major, eh? I dunno. There's a piano test required for all music oriented majors, so I guess that just jumpstarts me. I met a guy that shook my hand and led me down past some other classes. We looked through the windows on Piano Theory (all sitting in chairs around a teacher) and African Percussion Improvisation (wild drumming...yeah). I explained to him that I wanted to be a composition major. And he points out another guy down the hall who's in his last year as a Comp major. This second guy basically explains everything about being a Comp major there. He did qualm my nervous wreck of a self about the entrance performance and turning in of three written compositions. "They just want to see if you know what you're doing." They do a good amount of study on computer sound tweaking and sound filters and stuff. I was kindof surprised. I didn't realize a comp major learned a bunch about the studio process as well. And this guy explained that he was working on composing for some film majors' cartoons and dramas and such. Interdepartmental work, see. We finally made our way out after checking out the studio and the office again for more papers. Next, we entered the art building expecting a similar reception. Haha, I guess not. After checking out a gallery about Korean advertising, we found most of the school empty. It WAS a Friday, day of "let's not schedule classes today". We ran into a woman who worked in the offices there and she handed us contacts for both Photography and Graphic Design. ^^ The only thing we didn't really get contacts for were in the Creative Writing major. We did get the catalogue of classes, so I checked it out in the car. There's a minor for me, man. But, pretty much after that, we just jetted off back home.
The reason we were jetting home? I wanted some down time before heading to the annual "All-Night Social" that our HS holds.
It basically involves being bussed around to various places to party the night through. ^^ First stop was the corn maze. Seriously, that one's fun. Running around like crazy, squabbling with one another about which way to go, disappointing all the people hoping to scare us by simply saying "oh, hi." Some of the other girls in our group got scared really badly, though, about 6 or 7 times throughout the whole thing, lol. Next stop was In N Out Burger. It's a Californian cult restaurant. I say cult because anyone that lives in this region loveslovesloves it. It's considered crazy to hate it, or prefer Burger King to it. Plus there's a secret menu that we all know about because we're cool like that. I had a hamburger and fries there...and too much soda. My stomach wasn't very happy about that. Back on the bus, a friend and I sat behind some friends of ours who were explaining a movie they swear they're going to make. It sounded a whole lot like Oceans 11 to us. After that, one of the guys said, "Then I'm Matt Damon." We turned to the other guy. "George Clooney!" We proceeded to make Clooney jokes the whole night long. :P He'll never live it down. The next stop was a sports arena type place. They have rock climbing, pool tables, air hockey, bocce ball, table tennis, etc etc. I played plenty of each...except pool...because I stink at it. Only one thing that usually frustrated me didn't this time. Two of my close friends (like the group I eat lunch with) began to hang out with the "main group" of people that could be considered "the populars", but that's really not the group's fault. They're really just too friendly for their own good. And when they choose to hang with their own friends over the other people they've simply been friendly too, feelings get hurt. They're just doing what anybody'd do. Anyways, I'd get frustrated at them for melding into the group, which I've always felt so sick hanging with simply because so many feelings get hurt around them...plus the drama. When you're in a central group of an entire school, all the drama passes right through it. All that to say, we were playing bocce ball with them and I didn't feel as sickened by them. Haha, we even invited our Physics teacher to come play with us. :P The next stop was bowling. We entered in the names. "Clooney", suffice it to say, was one of them. :P We all bowled fairly decently for 4 am. Over 100 at least. I got strikes, spares, you know, decent bowling. Again, we were playing with a huge group between two joining lanes. The "group", again made a presence. But it was all good. Maybe it's because we're seniors? Maybe because it was so early? Maybe because we were all in good spirits? I don't know. And the whole thing went by really fast. On the bus ride back to school at 6:30 am, my friend and I were discussing the good old Jr High days, where the elementary school principal thought we were smoking pot, but we were just sitting there eating sunflower seeds. :P Good times, good times. Then, "Clooney" called. He was like five rows back on the bus. We proceeded to tell him the story. It's a great story, really, it is. But we made it back to school before we could discuss much else. Then we huddled in the gym, just chatting, a whole group of us, sheltered from the rain that had just begun about an hour previously. Then, when it started to thin out, I thanked the social chairs (my friend, and another guy from the dreaded "group". Ak, can't escape.), then drove my brother and myself home...all around 7 am. Suffice it to say, I went to bed after getting some medicine for my still whining soda'd stomach. Oh, and washed my face about a zillion times, blegh.
I was on and off sleeping until around 2 pm. Mostly listening to music. Mew, actually. ^^ Some of their stuff reminds me of the wee hours, really. Then, my mom and I ate leftovers and watched Edward Scissorhands. ^^ It was the first time I had seen it. Ak, so good. I really liked it. ^^ And now, I still have about a googleplex hours worth of homework, college apps, and car insurance discount program. >.< All in one day: tomorrow. But, really, it was worth it. I got some relief in the college department, and some down time with muh senior peeps. You know, the cool people.

Being away from the computer and being shoved into places with real life people is a change. I felt it on the Europe trip and this weekend. I have the suspicion that it'll happen when I go to college too. It does also mean less infatuation with rock stars much too old for me...which it probably healthy. But, you know, it only takes a few minutes for that to all come rushing back. Oh, and the oh so prevalent debate, to see Across the Universe or not. Oi. I think reading the Bell Jar has been good for me too. Seeing how insane asylums have always fascinated me, anyways. But the way she describes day to day occurrences... My trip to the college was flashing through my brain in a similar style. The whole impression of my trip reflected in the many tour leader's faces and their interesting demeanors. I was surprised and amused at how much more I picked up about my trip when simply observing in that fashion. But, you know, I'm back on teh interwebz mode. I just have to tell you everything, right? Wait. What do you mean, I don't? On goes my head in tracks of T-Rex and Pink Floyd. Dreams flashed with bright stage lights and guitars. The dream, itself, is a time machine, and because I know the oh, so secure ending, all is well. There's the comfort of a dream, right there. Real life isn't as simple. I really don't have a clue where I'm going to college. SJSU is a choice, I know. So is Cal Arts. And so is Berklee. It's all a matter of money. >.< Somehow I see the intrigue of running off and being a hippie. :P Lol, jk. You know, there is something to that, but it's just running away from your troubles. You have to face them. That I can do. The big void in my upcoming calendar? That I'm going to need help with. Oh, yeah, that and schoolwork pouring out of my ears.

Good night. Hopefully you can all find peace in such mounds of stress too. Oh, and fun too. ^^
