a reflection of our personalities?

Had this conversation with the darlings over breakfast yesterday at toastbox. We were just randomly bumming again, after polishing our breads, eggs, and teh pengs (what's new?) :p hehe. Yah, we haven't had breakfast for so long ok! It sure feels good to have a lazy sunday together, esp since there's not monday blues the next day because today's ( Read more... )

WHY! WHY! You have a nifty japanese phone but you barely use it at all T__T Is there no one to email in Japan? Hahaha. Damn, i want to use all their cute emoticons and such so badly! I've a feeling i prolly have to fork out about 30,000 - 60,000Yen for a mobile, if i'm buying it w/o a contract.. I'm still deliberating whether i should buy it since i can't do nuts with alot of the functions on the phone ( ... )

Well, mailing is expensive. Even receiving mails / sms does cost you money, so ... no thank you XD I'm not that rich ( ... )

No wonder it's so expensive.. You have to pay regardless of whether you use the service or not. And to receive a mail/sms you still have to pay. Omg -_- Yeah, i can see why you don't use the stuff.. lol. I totally understand now.. -pets ( ... )

Well, it's free if you've the same provider (e.g. softbank) as your communication partner, but a while ago I received tons of spam mails. They were not only annyoing but also expensive -__-;

Sure, but I probably won't know until February or so and if I don't get it I'll have to leave Japan in a rush -__-;;;;;

Well a warm coat or something and a warm pullover, a scarf and mabye gloves? XD warm shoes!

Yes, everybody knows about the JET programme, I guess. It's the best deal you can get as they even pay for your flight and you'll earn why more than me / us.
I couldn't go for JET as they don't need so many German teachers at Japanese high schools, so there was no free position at all the last few years. As I'm German I can only apply for the JET programme in my country which means only for a position as German teacher *sigh*
But if you have the chance to, definitely apply and try that :D

Ohhh, it's so confusing and complex! The Japanese just have to be different from everyone else, their technology, gadgets.. everything -_- Spam mails, did you curse at the person who spammed you? lol. You got them randomly? :s Man... that's quite troublesome no?

Are you gonna be like packing everything just in case? So you don't have to rush out of Japan? :s Or like maybe you could fly to korea for a few days, and then fly back into Japan again to settle all your luggage stuff, and then enjoy a holiday in Korea in the meantime.. :D good idea? :D hehehe.

Ah yeah, i've a 100% wool coat, i hope that's enough! Are converse high-cut sneakers warm enough shoes? >____<;; i'm not sure if it'd be warm enough.. :s i'll prolly get a pair of boots in USA too. Haha. I'm just wondering if i should bring my converse sneakers, since it snows in where i'd be going in US.. -_- And snow and sneakers.. I'm not sure if they go well together. lol. Any advice? :D ( ... )

No, random spam mails.

I won't have to leave the country, but I won't be allowed to work anymore (as German I'm allowed to stay as a tourist up to 6 months, but with no money and bhaaaaa...)

I don't know, seriously. This will be my first winter here, too! ^^;

No, I don't have the qualifications I'd need.
If you live in an English speaking country, then there are like 234234234 positions a year, so you don't need any special qualifications (just a bachelor degree I think), but in Germany with 23423423 applications and 0-1 positions per year you need qualifications as German teacher and more, so I have no chance at all.

Ahhh okay..

T____T Sorry bout that, am not really sure bout the difference.. But after reading what you just said.. really, it sucks to have no chance at all. sigh.. -hugs- I really really do hope you'll get a visa there!!

Do you have to go for rounds of interview for the visa application? I hope it's not too difficult a process.. Visas can be quite tricky sometimes.. -_-

No problem ^-^

No, no interviews, but I've written about that in my journal in detail quite a while ago. You need to prove that you have a university degree and have some qualifications in teaching English (of course ONLY if you're from a non-English speaking country). Real native speakers don't have to prove anything at all .... just show their passports and some random tiny bachelor degree. Just a lot of stuff to fill out and to prove and then it's still not a given that I'll get the visa *sigh* -__-;;
