a reflection of our personalities?

Had this conversation with the darlings over breakfast yesterday at toastbox. We were just randomly bumming again, after polishing our breads, eggs, and teh pengs (what's new?) :p hehe. Yah, we haven't had breakfast for so long ok! It sure feels good to have a lazy sunday together, esp since there's not monday blues the next day because today's ( Read more... )

WHY! WHY! You have a nifty japanese phone but you barely use it at all T__T Is there no one to email in Japan? Hahaha. Damn, i want to use all their cute emoticons and such so badly! I've a feeling i prolly have to fork out about 30,000 - 60,000Yen for a mobile, if i'm buying it w/o a contract.. I'm still deliberating whether i should buy it since i can't do nuts with alot of the functions on the phone :(

Hahaha, omg, you're studying for exam.. What kinda exams/tests? Teaching stuff? Are you gonna stay in japan for good or will you be returning soon? I actually would love to go to Japan and study Japanese full-time there, but i've a feeling that'd be ex. -___-;

omg. you're scaring me bout the winter! I read on some guide that the average temperature in Tokyo's bout 5degrees-10degrees. Is osaka even colder? T___T What does.. having no central heating means? -_- No heater in the buildings? Seriously?! How's the cold? Are you better now? Gawd, i hope you get better before winter comes in full-blown, it'd be so hard to recover by then! -hugs-

I've been good cept for that sucky nervy injury.. i hope to recover before i jet overseas. YES i'm looking forward to tokyo. Living and breathing the Japanese air. I'm ready to be bedazzled by everything there *___* Hehehe. Is the japanese winter that.. bad? x____x

i cannot imagine how i'd lug home a kotatsu.. HAHA. I'd have no use for it here, esp since there's no winters. Haha. I'd probably die from heat.. LOL

Well, mailing is expensive. Even receiving mails / sms does cost you money, so ... no thank you XD I'm not that rich!

Yes teaching stuff. I'd love to stay longer, but that all depends on getting a proper work visa or not. I'll be applying in December and then I'll have to wait in fear. If I get it I'll stay longer of course.
That's what I intend to do. I want to study full-time at a Japanese language school for a year, but yes it's expensive. About 2.000.000 Yen, so that's why I'm saving all my money like crazy right now and in about 2 years I might have enough money to finally do so. I'll be an old hag by then, but as I don't have rich parents that's my only chance (^^')

Actually winters in Japan are WARM compared to were I usually live (-10 degrees is normal there), but I'm not talking about the outside temperatures anyway -___-;

I hope you're getting better soon *hugs*
I'm better now, but I fear with the cold winter and tons of sick children that stick their fingers in their mouth and in their nose and then touch me in class, I'll get sick every month -__-; ^^;;;

No wonder it's so expensive.. You have to pay regardless of whether you use the service or not. And to receive a mail/sms you still have to pay. Omg -_- Yeah, i can see why you don't use the stuff.. lol. I totally understand now.. -pets-

Ahhhhh. I'll be crossing my fingers! Remember to share the good news with me if you do get a VISA okay? :) I'm sure things will go well!!! Hahaha. I'm envious, you'd get to stay in Japan for so so so so long, it's quite awesome no? :p And omg, it costs ALOT to be studying Japanese full-time.. That's 31k for goodness sake :s It costs even more than my university education! I don't think i have that money too :( Not now or not in the near future, there goes my idea of studying Japanese full-time. Urgh. T_T

Haha, i'd think that their winters are comparatively warmer too :p How many layers would you reckon would be enough? 3-4 would suffice right? Hahaha.

Sick kiddos sticking their hands all over themselves and then hugging and touching you.. Hahaha, poor chocha. Rampant viruses flying around with all the sick kiddos :p

Btw, have you heard about the JET programme? Was thinking if i should go for that instead, since i want to be in Japan for a longer period of time..

Well, it's free if you've the same provider (e.g. softbank) as your communication partner, but a while ago I received tons of spam mails. They were not only annyoing but also expensive -__-;

Sure, but I probably won't know until February or so and if I don't get it I'll have to leave Japan in a rush -__-;;;;;

Well a warm coat or something and a warm pullover, a scarf and mabye gloves? XD warm shoes!

Yes, everybody knows about the JET programme, I guess. It's the best deal you can get as they even pay for your flight and you'll earn why more than me / us.
I couldn't go for JET as they don't need so many German teachers at Japanese high schools, so there was no free position at all the last few years. As I'm German I can only apply for the JET programme in my country which means only for a position as German teacher *sigh*
But if you have the chance to, definitely apply and try that :D

Ohhh, it's so confusing and complex! The Japanese just have to be different from everyone else, their technology, gadgets.. everything -_- Spam mails, did you curse at the person who spammed you? lol. You got them randomly? :s Man... that's quite troublesome no?

Are you gonna be like packing everything just in case? So you don't have to rush out of Japan? :s Or like maybe you could fly to korea for a few days, and then fly back into Japan again to settle all your luggage stuff, and then enjoy a holiday in Korea in the meantime.. :D good idea? :D hehehe.

Ah yeah, i've a 100% wool coat, i hope that's enough! Are converse high-cut sneakers warm enough shoes? >____<;; i'm not sure if it'd be warm enough.. :s i'll prolly get a pair of boots in USA too. Haha. I'm just wondering if i should bring my converse sneakers, since it snows in where i'd be going in US.. -_- And snow and sneakers.. I'm not sure if they go well together. lol. Any advice? :D

Yeah, the application is currently closed i think. I'll just have to try and make it in time for next year's one. I really do hope i'll be able to do the JET programme or something. It sounds like too good an opportunity to miss. I'm not sure.. I'm hopeful things would work out T___T do they need heaps of english teachers in Japan? Hahaha..

Maybe you could try applying again if you don't get a work visa :)
-hugs-

No, random spam mails.

I won't have to leave the country, but I won't be allowed to work anymore (as German I'm allowed to stay as a tourist up to 6 months, but with no money and bhaaaaa...)

I don't know, seriously. This will be my first winter here, too! ^^;

No, I don't have the qualifications I'd need.
If you live in an English speaking country, then there are like 234234234 positions a year, so you don't need any special qualifications (just a bachelor degree I think), but in Germany with 23423423 applications and 0-1 positions per year you need qualifications as German teacher and more, so I have no chance at all.

Ahhh okay..

T____T Sorry bout that, am not really sure bout the difference.. But after reading what you just said.. really, it sucks to have no chance at all. sigh.. -hugs- I really really do hope you'll get a visa there!!

Do you have to go for rounds of interview for the visa application? I hope it's not too difficult a process.. Visas can be quite tricky sometimes.. -_-

No problem ^-^

No, no interviews, but I've written about that in my journal in detail quite a while ago. You need to prove that you have a university degree and have some qualifications in teaching English (of course ONLY if you're from a non-English speaking country). Real native speakers don't have to prove anything at all .... just show their passports and some random tiny bachelor degree. Just a lot of stuff to fill out and to prove and then it's still not a given that I'll get the visa *sigh* -__-;;
