Armed with your excellent advice about jeans to look at in New York, I've come home with a pair of Levi's defined waist bootcut jeans from Macy's, and two pairs of dark blue straight leg jeans from Coldwater Creek, which I would certainly never have found otherwise. Of course, now I wish I'd bought more pairs...

I just ordered a beautiful Whistles skirt suit from Oxfam's 2nd hand store online. I recently discovered Seasalt, thanks to a fabulous charity shop find by fiendish_cat. They don't have a huge range but I really like what they do have. I ordered a pink summer skirt, pink and green summer blouses, a stripey sweatshirt and a spotty babycord skirt in the sale. It all arrived this morning and I instantly fell in love. I have a very smart wedding to go to in December and also potentially a black tie dinner in the new year. I don't really have black tie clothes in my wardrobe. When I was in the US a few years ago I bought two identical pairs of Lane Bryant jeans which fitted my waist, hips, thighs and were the right length. A couple of months ago I had to throw one pair out for large holes in embarrassing places and now the other pair has gone too. So I need replacements.
