1. My newly-refinished dining room table has finally made it home! Clearly, it is now time to devise a dinner party. Recently, both of my parents have been asking when they see me, "so...is anything new these days?"

Based on how they've asked it, it has become clear to me that this is a code phrase for "so, are you dating anybody?"
