I feel like I've mostly not noticed wildfire smoke in Regina, but today it's really significant. It smells like woodsmoke (of course) and is making me feel anxiety. Not quite panic.

Miriam and I have made it back home to Regina.

I'm not catching up on social media yet, but I'm doing some things to make home feel more like home. I'm very much looking forward to having a peaceful span of time here. I hope.

Miriam and I have been in the new/old place for a couple nights now. Overall, it's wonderful. We have a couch we don't hate. We have room that isn't taken up by a bunch of furniture we don't need and that isn't ours. We have nice big windows in the living room we can open up and enjoy the breeze through. A maintenance person came to fix the loose kitchen faucet yesterday. He had to replace the whole tap, and now every time I use the sink I have that subtle feeling of things being just not quite right.

As of yesterday, we've been told, the cleaning and demolition is complete at the condo and they started the odor removal process.

Our adjuster originally told us it could be a year before we could move back. I really have no idea whether this progress is in line with that timeline or not.

I'm online only minimally because I'm using my cell phone for the data. More on that below.
