Bobby got the rump lump removed and he's doing fine at home. We scheduled another appt with the vet for next friday to look at his stitches, find out the results of all the lab tests, and to talk about the next step for his adrenal problem and/or maybe cancer. I'm having a hard time giving him his medication though. Bobby hates it and won't swallow the whole 0.4cc of antibiotics. Most of it ends up on the side of his mouth and he immediately tries to wipe it off his face and goes to hide from us in his blanket. I usually hold him and my mom has to force him to open is mouth with the syringe, but he shakes his head so fast that its really difficult to do. He also starts to whine slightly, which is a new noise to us. I've been giving him a treat right after the whole process so he doesn't feel bad about it. I emailed the vet about it to see if he has tips for us on giving wiggly ferrets medicine. I have to give him the 0.4ccs twice a day for two weeks.
Tanukitsune made this super cute animation of Bobby today, which was very sweet.
Thanks for all the comments and concerns for Bobby. And thank you so much to everyone who's donated for his vet bills! Every little bit helps and its appreciated! :) Bobby sends a "Dook!" your way.
If you'd still like to donate, my paypal address is starlinex@gmail.com
Thanks again.
EDIT: I did what the vet said and added a bit of Ferrettone treat to the end of the syringe and he's taking his meds a bit better. Still hates it, but not as much.
