Welp, I'm home.

Considering I don't have any kind of exciting job this summer, I've decided to set a goal to do something productive and/or generally awesome every day on break when I'm not real estating/yardworking/applying for endless minimum wage retail positions.  I'm back from my research adventure, and enjoying my first 24 hours of actual summer break. I have a few more entries half-written right now that I'll post to the travel blog in the near future (they involve professors being goofballs, my attempts at wielding high-grade explosives, and a near-death experience with an ATV, and thus are amusing ( Read more... )

Okay, I'm being unfair, but between the dormant trees, brown grass and constant overcast, the view from my sofa is pretty bleak at the moment.

I've officially been in Ohio for 360 days now, and I'm getting some serious deja-vu at the moment. This time last year I was also packing everything I owned into little cardboard boxes, saying goodbye to everybody I cared about, and getting ready to ship myself off to somewhere unknown. I've done it once, I can do it again, but it's just....weird.
