Today was the last 'real' day of school before the half-day system of exams starts. After fourth period I was summoned to Tuttle's classroom at the end of the day, expecting to get some sort of PARI-related paperwork, perhaps.
Instead I was greeted by about 20 people -- most of my Physics class, plus my other closest school-friends -- who had been plotting a going-away party for me for weeks now. I'd had no idea. I was promptly festooned with clothespins (it's a long story), a Collins Dictionary of Astronomy, and a Build-A-Bear named Galileo Ursa Majoris that roars loudly when you press its paw. ("It's supposed to be a big bear, see?" Tuttle exclaimed enthusiastically.) And then there were brownies and lemonade and hugs, and it was good.
You guys, I love my people so much.
