General update of the past week or so.
Haven't really posted here in awhile. I've spent most weekends away from the home this month, so today I relished just being here, especially being able to sleep... which after a week of the stomach flu I've needed as much rest as I could get.
Yesterday was Relle's 4th birthday, and we took her to Spaghetti Factory, pretty much close family and friends. We got her a large (too large) Tinkerbell cake. She got an overload of Tinkerbell and Disney Princess stuff which she enjoyed. She's pretty much opened up and played with everything today. We also took the kids to a north Fresno pumpkin patch/carnival where they got to play for a few hours and burn off their sugar laden energies.
Then it was game time last night, which was enjoyable. It was nice starting up a new campaign and new character, although I've got to flesh out her concept a lot more. She's a Druid shifter, arabic in coloring and background (well fantasy arabic), and so far is pretty rude in her comments and gender unspecific looking, as Charisma is her dump stat. She currently goes by Kit, until I can come up with a better character name. Her shape change form is a lioness.
Prior to this weekend, I'd been fighting a stomach flu, which I think I picked up at GWW, since my family has not brought it home. They also haven't gotten it at this point, and hopefully the kids' early flu sprays will help them to not get this.
GWW was good, but exhausting, which is why I think I got the flu so easily, since I was tired before getting there. It was good seeing and spending time with various people, spending time doing activities I enjoyed, went to Kitty's memorial (beautiful and touching), entered the A&S with my pair of bodies (there are number of great entries), and did some shopping (nothing major, but I almost bought a table if only I had the room). I had fun, but again, the drum circle/musicians at the event playing until early morning really makes it hard to sleep, and hence rest, which makes me not want to do another war again. I know already I won't be at GWW next year, because the Black Rose Ball is the weekend right after, and I can't afford both events so close together. But to return, I need to find a way to sleep through the drummers, as they were at both areas I would camp at.
And that's about it. No sewing or painting has been done this past week, just lots of embroidery or reading as I sat around in blankets trying not to hurl. I hope to do both painting and sewing this week to make up the time. I've got other things to do as well, but that's for another post sometime.
