AoA scroll progress

Oct 22, 2009 00:02

It's been awhile since I last posted about the award scroll I am working on.

I didn't make it in time to turn in at GWW, as I was busy on other things. And then I got sick. So now I am working on it in hopes of finishing it asap to mail off, even with the due date tomorrow. At least I did get it to M. Medb and had the calligraphy portion approved for the text (whew!). While I will be late in turning it in, it will get turned in. Then I get to work on Relle's costume.

So far the scroll has had all the base colors added, and have done some shading and highlights on the ochre yellow and the blue portions, along with the gold and silver and red of the shield arms. I dislike the W&N gouache metallics, with so many layers and not a very good coverage, so I am hoping to find a better paint choice for future projects, as I am too new to even try getting into the real gold.

I have taken some photos of the progress, but forgot to get one of just the sketch. But my card reader is mia, and the batteries died before I could get a photo of what I did tonight, so photos hopefully tomorrow.

And now to head off to bed, as tomorrow we buy fabrics for both kids outfits (Cam's is just a cloak), and my shoulder needs a good rest. Oh, and I get tiny screws for my glasses, since one arm completely fell off and I couldn't find the itty bitty little screw.
