Yes.

Seriously, I heart that red trim with that fabric (at least the way it looks on my monitor.) The cream is nice too, but the red pops!

Why not a loose gown with the blue + red, and underneath the cream + cream? Use the color palette of the portrait, if not the actual shapes....

I've been thinking that same idea. I have the kirtle and sleeves for the gown already, in golden yellow and black. The black will at least tie in with the trim's black. But I am thinking of making a spiral slashed sleeve to use as well, and will probably do that in the cream and gold. Then someday when I have a stable weight, make a fitted doublet and petticoat to go with it. That would work well, I think.

Oooooooo. Interchangeable pretty parts...the ultimate "weekend wardrober".
I have intentions someday of making a couple of nice but "basic" gowns - colors that would go with everything - and then spend my money on SPIFF sleeves, foreparts, accesories, etc.
