Uncle Vagn’s birthday party this past weekend was a multi-day affair.

Last weekend we went to Hørning to visit Aksel's parents, as well as brother Niels and his wife Gitti. We had a good time. On Saturday eveing Niels, Gitt and us drove into Silkeborg's Latin Quarter and ate at Restaurant Zorba, which was quite pleasant. We were back home on Sunday 6:30 PM.

This past weekend, Pentecost (Danish, Pinse) weekend, was the last of the long spring holiday weekends in Denmark.  The weather was perfectly accommodating- sunny and warm, even into the evenings. The garden is a-bloom with late daffodils, tulips, bluebells and lilacs. The newly planted summer flowers are thriving, and the grey sparrows are ( Read more... )

Went dancing this weekend on Jutland at Østbirk School with my square dancing friends from The Diamonds, Aalborg.  Took the train to Hadsten on Friday after work to overnight at my square dance friend Hanne and husband Peter’s house.  The ride out was slow, and the weather was a bit dreary, but the landscape around Skanderborg was delightful with ( Read more... )

I am now finally back home from my holiday jaunts. It’s been a rough haul-three countries (Denmark, Germany, Sweden), only five nights at home over the past 13 days, and challenge level square dancing every day for the past 10 days.

Like a virgin… I danced C3A for the very first time at a dance. Well, it’s not so often I feel virginal any more. So when I do feel virginal, I give myself permission to whirl around in circles and flail my arms around like Madonna, and sing out, “Like a virgin!” (OK, so maybe not quite exactly like Madonna).
