Meant to share this last week, but time just got away from me. I noticed this really cool flower blooming in the yard. I was too lazy to run inside and grab my dslr, so I just snapped a few shots with my iphone.

Mom has a lot of Christmas cactus plants and they've been blooming the last few weeks. I finally got around to take a few shots of them today. :o)

Yesterday, I was on the front porch watering my plants and saw a new flower blossoming on a plant I least expected to see a flower on, a cactus-like succulent I got from my Mom about a year ago. There are only two flowers on the plant so far, and they are blooming at the very base of the plant. I almost didn't see them.

So those flowers that I posted about last week seem to be drawing ants. I came home tonight and looked at them and saw ants crawling over them, I guess the ants serve to pollinate the flowers as opposed to bees or other insects....it was quite fascinating to watch. And now, as I promised before, a much better picture of those flowers:

So spring is here and some of the plants on my front porch are blooming. I came home the other day to find this funky looking thing that I can only guess is some sort of flower growing from one of my plants.
