So, last night I continued my tradition of not watching the Oscars and, instead, refreshing their Wiki page every once in awhile to see what movies/people won. And, come on. The Hurt Locker? Probably the most boring movie nominated for Best Picture this year. It had like, one engrossing scene, ( which I will describe in brief under this cut tag, )

So, jeez, the Star Trek reboot has eaten my brain, eh? I've just been sitting here like, absorbing the fic, and not posting to my LJ like a responsible LJer. *sigh* But hey, I've seen other movies this summer, too. Like the one I saw tonight.

I love Billy Elliot. I love Jamie Bell's kinda off-and-on acting talent, I love the wee little boycrushes, I love the dad's angst. Love it. The things I have to say about Dollhouse and Friday Night Lights are few, and relatively unspoilery, to the extent that I feel comfortable posting them without a cut.

Dollhouse: Now we're getting somewhere. Typical Joss show -- starts out a little slow, but now I'm really into it. And I'm getting used to Dichen Lachmann's face.

I really hope they remake Wuthering Heights soon [IMDB says they are] because Ralph Fiennes aside, the current version puts me to sleep every time with its boring, droning narrator and its women's terrible mall hair. I spent my Valentine's Day evening watching The Boondock Saints for the first time ever. And then restraining myself from yelling at one of my friends for trying to ruin the movie because he "didn't agree" with the main characters' motivation. ( Reactionary stuff. )

If I were at all religious, I'd say I had a miracle happen to me last night.
