Sasha had said he would start class 'next week', and he felt sorry for any students who thought he meant next Wednesday. The room was set up with tables and stools, making an E and backwards E shape, with a path leading directly to the teacher's desk. Behind the desk were some storage cabinets and three chalk boards. One on the right was labeled 'HISTORY', the one in the center 'THEORY' and the one on the left had a list of what was going to be gone over in class today, along with the homework assignment ( ... )

Souji's hand shot up. He was looking at the new teacher with friendly curiosity, he seemed so different from their last teacher. The class seemed like it was going to be much more serious, too, and Souji wasn't sure yet if that was a good or bad thing. He was optimistic, though.

"Professor Nein, can you tell us about yourself?" After all, it would be weird to have a teach they didn't know anything about.

"Of course." Sasha said with a nod. "I am Sasha Nein, I was raised in Germany and went to Durmstrang. I am an Auror taking time off during the school year to research some topics in the Muggle field of Psychology, specifically in just how the brain affects behavior on a neurological level and to study some more transfiguration skills."

He brushed some hair away from the middle of his forehead, "I have been given permission to teach other classes extra-curricularly if I find any students that I think have the potential for it."

"That's so interesting!" And rather mysterious too, Souji thought. Of course, he didn't know much about Durmstrang, but it sure sounded intimidating from the rumors. "Welcome to Hogwarts, Professor. I hope you really like it here, I bet teaching is much different from being an Auror. What other classes are you going to teach?"

There weren't too many other students in the 6th Year class, so Souji didn't feel bad taking up some of the class time with his questions. Hopefully Professor Nein wouldn't mind either.

Thijs was run ragged as it were, but with the plants acting up as they had (and he still wasn't entirely sure why that had happened) and moving things, even throwing things, and even tipping their own pots and spilling soil everywhere. . . although he'd been working non-stop to get things in order, and had a few spells that helped, the classrooms were still pretty disorganized. Still, the students would only notice a few broken pots, some of the plants out of place, more dirt on the floors than normal, and definitely more dirt on Thijs than normal. He'd only just managed to get the books and tools organized again.

Years 1-2: Will be working on a common herb quiz; the herbs are already laid out on several desks and they need to be able to identify them by sight and write the correct answers on their parchment ( ... )

Tsuna was not a clumsy person, but even he had some issues with the weighty, stiff gardening tools that they were required to use to trim and prune the many plants in the greenhouse classrooms. He was still feeling guilty over that mandrake's pot he had broken recently and so he was taking more care than usual.

"So this is used for..." He hefted the tool in his hands and frowned at it - it was an averruncator, long shears used to cut branches off trees. Its size already terrified him and he was almost certain he would accidentally swing them into something or someone (and perhaps cut them without meaning to).

Thijs had already told the students their tasks, and they had to check them off to him once they'd finished. He watched his students each for a moment before he caught sight of Tsuna holding the shears, and he approached.

"How's it going?"

Tsuna jumped and swung around a little too quickly, almost doing exactly what he had feared would happen.

"Eek! S-sorry!" he gabbled as he almost hit his teacher's head. Sheepishly he lowered the shears so that they would be less of a danger to others.

Marcus is inspired by his latest project to bring films to the school. Granted, getting things to work is taking a bit of experimentation, but it will happen.

When students come in, on his desk are a couple old film reels, an antique projector, and a miniature folding director's chair. Marcus himself is capping a marker after drawing this:

"Going out to the movies? The film, the projector, the light used to project the film on a screen, the music, sound effects and dialogue. It's all necessary in a movie theater."

Shin really didn't want to go beating around the bush when it came to this class, since he really knew a lot of what was going in in there to begin with. He didn't think he was sounding disrespectful, and was only doing as the professor had asked.

Now if the professor was going to go through a different route with this, then that would be interesting.

Marcus kept the latent amusement to himself. Shin was a bright one, though a bit arrogant about it.

"You have the middle part correct, Mr. Sawada, and the last. But why would you say 'going out' to the movies?"

He was slightly puzzled by that question. If the professor -- no. No. He was quite sure he knew what he was talking about, but why word the question back at him that way?

"Uh... most muggles would have to leave their homes and go out into the world at large, before arriving at a movie theater. Otherwise, they can just buy or rent films and stay at home, which is a wholly different experience from being in a theater, sir."
