Hikaru found himself in an unknown quadrant of the city with no recollection of how he had gotten there or where he was going. There were taller buildings to his left as he walked down the empty street, and he guessed he was somewhere on the outskirts although none of it looked familiar. It was not just that his immediate surroundings were unfamiliar, the entire world looked different, almost unnatural.
"This whole place's always unnatural," Hikaru muttered to himself, slouching over against the chill and shoving his hands into his pockets, trying desperately to ignore the mad panicked beating of his heart and the way he was jumping at the slightest noise or shadow. There seemed to be some sort of loud pandemonium going on in practically all directions but apart from a general low-grade chaos his particular street was deserted. Hikaru swore. The words sounded hollow and dead on the dull air and did little to boost his nerves.
He shivered, feeling the skin on his back and neck crawl upwards and he spun around, staring with wide eyes at the all-too-empty street and sky. A sense of hideous agoraphobia hit him and sent him nearly sprawling in the solitude. He stumbled back, shaking, and ran down the street, fear cutting through him.
[...Being alone is scarier than monsters for Hikaru atm. But once people tag, they can run into stuff. :3]
