Chrona did not know how to deal with this.

However, the last time that he had seen her, he was dying in her arms, his mother looming in the background with the intent to kill the both of them. Which couldn't have been good, to say the least.

But he had to find her ( Read more... )

Finally Ion had managed to get some time away from Asch and Saber. It would give them some time to sort out what was going to come next. Besides, he could use some fresh air. Espoir was a nice change of pace from the city, too. And from the kitchen.

Not too far away, there was a rather... disheveled person. He looked a little bit confused, and maybe just a little upset. Probably new here.

"Oh..." Maybe I should go and say hello?

"Excuse me?" Ion called, picking up the pace a little and waving to attract the kid's attention. "Are you lost?"

"Huh?"

And, Chrona hadn't been expecting this, either. This wasn't Maka, though, so he didn't care that much. Still, that was no reason to ignore the kid, especially since he'd already made eye contact.

"I... I don't know, I guess so..."

"You're new?" The boy smiled. Somarium was sort of an awkward place to end up with no answers, so the sooner this kid got some information, the better off he'd likely be.

"I'm Ion," he said. Once names were out of the way, it would be a bit easier for both of them. "What's your name?"

"I... My name's Chrona," although why he felt the need to introduce himself he was not really sure.

Although, this kid did seem to know what he was doing, so, "Um... do... do you know where Maka is?"

Matsuri had begun to getting accustomed to taking a regular walk. It was fun, and let her notice what new faces were around town. Those days were always the most conflicting, as she didn't know whether to say hi or not. Her last attempt at helping a new person didn't work out too great.

Today was another day that new people seemed to just be falling out of the sky. Noticing the new boy, he seemed particularly... timid. Approaching him, she tried to avoid startling him if possible. He seemed like the type to be easily surprised. "Umm... hey, looking for somebody?"

"Y-Yeah..." he said, almost without thinking. He was so used to replying to Ragnarok, after all, and rarely did he look upwards when he was talking to him. There was no point in facing him after all, he knew he was there.

But this voice was definitely not Ragnarok. It wasn't even a guy.

He turned, facing her, "I-I mean, uh, y-yeah."

That had accomplished nothing.

It seemed to her that her initial impression of this guy was right on the mark. Timid, quiet, but at least he wasn't as easily surprised as she was expected. When he turned to face her, she could only smile in response. At least he took the time to see who he was talking to.

"I'm guessing that you're new here, huh?" she half-asked. It would make sense if he was trying to regroup with some people he knew if he was new and didn't know where he was going.

"Y-yeah..." he said again. Talking with girls was still difficult, despite everything Maka had done for him, "I guess. Since I don't know where I am..."

Although, being 'new here' sort of implied that he had come here of his own free will, right? Even though that definitely wasn't the case.

Maka was glad to get out of the house. After that disastrous auction, she was more than a little relieved to have a bit of time to herself. It was a pretty nice day outside, after all, despite her inner turmoil at having Kid constantly want to remodel her apartment--

...Wait, did she hear her name? She blinked, and turned her head towards where she thought she heard the voice come from, and-- no way. Her eyes widen a little bit, mouth falling open in a silent gasp. "Chrona...?" she calls, tentatively. Then, "CHRONA!"

She ran over to Chrona, a smile on her face.

"M-Maka!" he couldn't help but exclaim, because she was safe and okay and that must have meant that she had won, "You're okay!"

He was really grateful, he really was. He would have thanked God had he done that sort of thing.

"Chrona!" She had on a huge smile as she leaned in to hug him. She'd been so worried about him the entire time she's been here; she'd woken up right after the revival of the kishin, after all, and she wasn't sure what had become to Chrona after that.

After a moment though, she pulls back, still smiling. "How long have you been here?" She pauses a moment, and then raises an eyebrow. "...Of course I'm okay. It was you I was worried about."

He smiled too, when she hugged him. He wouldn't have been able to deal with it if it were anyone else. But since it was Maka, it was alright. More than alright, even.

"I... uh... I just woke up here, I don't know," he explained, "But... you were fighting Medusa, and... I thought I was dead, but I guess I'm not, and you're okay, so I'm really happy."

It's a nice day, good for a walk- Kid had been hoping vaguely to run into someone he knew, but the sudden appearance of Chrona surprised him. At first he tenses up, seeing as their last meeting had not been on good terms, but he relaxes again when he hears him calling for Maka. She'd told him about this, hadn't she? How Chrona hadn't turned out to be a bad sort, really, that he'd just been corrupted by Medusa.

So he walks up to him, however cautiously, extending an uncertain greeting. "Maka's here somewhere. I saw her this morning."

He gave out a relieved sigh at the statement, but quickly turned, sort of recognizing the voice, "...Kid?"

Well, there could have been worse people to run into, anyway.

He stays a short distance away, not quite knowing what to expect. Chrona seems to be on a first name basis with him, which is probably a good sign, but you never know.

"I expect you just got here, then? ...Is Ragnarok with you?"

He had suddenly come to the realization that, no, Ragnarok hadn't said anything since he had gotten... well, here. Since he didn't know what to call this place yet. Although Kid's seriousness was a little intimidating when Ragnarok wasn't there.

"I... I guess so? I don't know what Ragnarok is doing."

What was with the new people being like pansies? First that weird prince and now this... ... Was this person a girl or a guy? What the hell?

"Yo," he said as he came up behind Chrona. "Lookin' for someone'?"

"Uuah!"

It was probably not the greatest idea to come up behind Chrona and surprise him. Not for the person's own sake, but for Chrona's mental wellbeing. Although that was shot already, so the point may have been moot. Of course, he was less likely to talk, now that he had been taken aback like that.

"W-What?!"

At Chrona's surprised yell, Kamina was also caught by surprise and jumped back with a "Wha?!" before he recovered.

"Uh, ya look a bit lost."

"Ughuu..." Chrona sighed, because yes, he was lost, "Y-yeah..."

He didn't really want to talk to this guy, but that was no reason to lie to him, either. Right?
