Chrona did not know how to deal with this.

However, the last time that he had seen her, he was dying in her arms, his mother looming in the background with the intent to kill the both of them. Which couldn't have been good, to say the least.

But he had to find her ( Read more... )

It's a nice day, good for a walk- Kid had been hoping vaguely to run into someone he knew, but the sudden appearance of Chrona surprised him. At first he tenses up, seeing as their last meeting had not been on good terms, but he relaxes again when he hears him calling for Maka. She'd told him about this, hadn't she? How Chrona hadn't turned out to be a bad sort, really, that he'd just been corrupted by Medusa.

So he walks up to him, however cautiously, extending an uncertain greeting. "Maka's here somewhere. I saw her this morning."

He gave out a relieved sigh at the statement, but quickly turned, sort of recognizing the voice, "...Kid?"

Well, there could have been worse people to run into, anyway.

He stays a short distance away, not quite knowing what to expect. Chrona seems to be on a first name basis with him, which is probably a good sign, but you never know.

"I expect you just got here, then? ...Is Ragnarok with you?"

He had suddenly come to the realization that, no, Ragnarok hadn't said anything since he had gotten... well, here. Since he didn't know what to call this place yet. Although Kid's seriousness was a little intimidating when Ragnarok wasn't there.

"I... I guess so? I don't know what Ragnarok is doing."

Well, that's surprising; you'd think something that is essentially Chrona's blood would remain securely in his body, and therefore he'd know what it was doing at all times. Perhaps Ragnarok hadn't come with him, somehow? If so, that might be a good thing; on the off chance that Chrona was still dangerous, at least neither of them would have a weapon.

He pauses; perhaps it would be best to just ask? "Chrona... what's the last thing you remember before you woke up here?"

"I..." he figured it was okay to tell Kid. He seemed like he knew what he was doing most of the time, even if Chrona wasn't quite sure why he was mad at him, "M-Maka... Medusa was going to kill her, but I... and then I thought I was going to die, but then I woke up here..."

He wasn't very good at explaining things.

His eyes widen a little against his will at that. Maka... was in danger? That worries him, but there's nothing he can do; he's in a different dimension from the one where he could do anything to help her. If Soul's with her, she'll probably be fine.

And then there's the other problem. Is Chrona... dead? If so, why is he here? That raises a whole bunch of unpleasant questions. But it sounds like Chrona and Maka are fairly close at home, so he allows himself to relax a bit more. "Maka will be alright," he says, trying to sound confident, "and I expect she'll take care of you, as well, if you're close. You're probably not dead, either." Most likely. He doesn't know that for sure, but it seems a fair assumption.

"I... yeah, she has to be okay," he said, doing his best to convince himself. Although his concern was growing as he saw that Kid's eyes were widening. In... what? Shock? Fear? Even if he did sound confident.

"I... I didn't think I was dead now. Since I'm walking and everything. But... I... don't wanna make Maka t-take care of me, though. It wouldn't be fair to her... I'll just find a corner or something..."

"Ah, perhaps I should have explained this first; this place is called Somarium. And there are people here who are technically... dead where they come from." The thought had occurred to him when he'd first arrived that perhaps Asura had killed him; he knows now that he's alive, somewhere, but he's never quite sure about anyone else.

But... sleeping in a corner? That's just ridiculous. "I'm sure you could find an apartment around here somewhere, then. There's lots of vacant space."

"W-What?!" So even if he found Maka, there would be no way to tell if she was really alright? This was a whole new realm of awful that Kid had introduced him to.

"I-I don't need to, though," he really didn't. He was used to sleeping in a room, sure, but there had been plenty of times where Medusa had sent him off, and he was forced to sleep outside. It hadn't been that bad. Usually.

He raises an eyebrow, recovering from the unpleasantness of learning that Maka was in danger. They're always in danger, as meisters. It shouldn't even surprise him anymore. "...Well, yes, but wouldn't you be more comfortable with a proper place to live? It's not as though anyone will mind if you move in somewhere."

Kid seemed to be... not quite so stern, now. Which made it easier for Chrona to calm down, whether he was dead or not.

"...Are you sure?" He wasn't used to not being a burden onto anyone, after all, as much as he tried to avoid it. Really, he did.

He nods, thinking of how he and Maka had pretty much just moved into the first place they found. He doesn't see what the problem is. "Quite sure. There are a lot of empty rooms in my apartment building, and no one actually owns them; no one's going to complain. Unless it's been taken by someone else already, of course."

"Oh. Okay," he sort of agreed with him. Although he wouldn't know how to deal with having an apartment of his own.

"B-But I want to find Maka first. Even if she is okay..." He just had to convince himself that she was alright. If he never saw her again afterwards, that would be okay. But just once. Just to make sure.

He nods; that shouldn't be too difficult a task, at least. "I just saw her this morning, so it shouldn't be all that hard to find her unless she went out somewhere." Which is possible. He gets the feeling she doesn't like being cooped up in the apartment with him, which will probably hurt a bit once he takes time to think about it.

"Really? O-okay... Can... Should we look for her together, then?"

That would be okay. Kid definitely knew what to do, and Chrona was better at following, anyway.
