So, basically, what with the whole ambergris thing? I ordered some cheap samples from a couple of eBay shops specialising in attars. The one I tried on yesterday--a sample from this shop selling Al-Haramain perfumes--I read up on it. Great article on Oud (aloeswood) here. I got a tiny tiny tiny sample of the oil this past summer (it's expensive as hell) and it's probably the most fascinating scent I've ever played with. It's really strong and bitter and overwhelming and somewhat manly, but when you mix it with other perfumes, it's absolutely magical :O I... I can't explain it. ( Read more... )
