Eli's comin'
Very sad news...one of my best friends has been teaching English in Korea for the last several months. He returned home two weeks ago because his father is very ill--he had cancer a few years back, and about three weeks ago there was a new, very serious problem with his digestive system. They were hopeful for a little while, but late last week they found brain cancer as well. My friend's father has moved into hospice, and is expect to last a week, maybe two.
They live in New Mexico, so there's not a lot I can do from here. I (being me) sent cookies as soon as he got back to the States, before they knew how bad it was. I want to help, but I have no idea what to do or where to begin, because the whole point of hospice is that they've given up. I hate this. I hate this stupid fucking disease and I hate that there's nothing we can do.
