That My Faith Is Justified...

I've been going on a clothes shopping spree lately. I recently got a raise at work and while that had everything to do with my abilities and not my appearance, I feel like dressing up a bit more often. Ya know? When I worked at the law firm, I had to dress a certain way. At the shelter, I can dress more casually which is very nice. But being casual at work and in my personal life? It gets old. This may sound silly, but part of it also has to do with my overall appearance. My hair is now the longest it's been since I got my first pixie cut in '06. I'm feeling much more femme these days because of my hair and so I want pretty things. Don't get me wrong, I still like my androgynous and boy clothes. I'm quite fond of wearing a dress with boy underwear. I've ordered a few dresses from ModCloth and will likely get some blouses when it's closer to fall.

There's a local boutique called Rockabetty. Their focus is on pin-up style clothing, rockabilly, that sorta thing. I didn't feel I could pull off that look when my hair was shorter. I wandered in there last week during my lunch break and had the store-girl help dress me. I love being dressed, by the way. I love having things picked out, adjusted while on me, the whole thing. I wanted to get a skirt or 2, maybe a dress, so I told her that I have no idea how to pull off a pencil skirt look. I picked a monster print skirt and she grabbed a shirt and an adorable sugar skull belt to cinch the whole thing together. Amazing! I didn't get the shirt because there wasn't one in my size but I did get the belt to go along with it as it was just too perfect. I got another skirt that was over 50% off - it's navy with anchor buttons on it. I tried on a dress but it was too big everywhere and would need quite a lot of tailoring. I was very pleased with my findings and I would certainly shop there again.

We had a wrestling show on Friday night. It was a lot of fun! I love hanging out with my wrestling friends. I wish we could hang out more often. I'll refrain from outing anyone, but a few of our wrestlers are bi. I think bi boys are so cute so it just adds another level of cuteness to these guys. During one of the matches, 2 of our wrestlers started humping their opponent...and I got SO horny over that! Mios dios. Boy on boy...on BOY action?! Yep, that'll do it for me.

All my gardening is doing well. I'm pleasantly surprised that I haven't accidentally killed anything off. I thought our apple tree might not produce much for apples this year, but it looks like there should be a decent amount. The herb recycling bins are so fragrant! It's lovely to walk past them and breathe in all that yumminess. The raspberries should start ripening soon; I saw one is getting some pinkish-red to it already.

Last Sunday, the pups found a downed fledgling in the backyard. There were no puncture wounds so she wasn't dying because of them. It was a very hot day so maybe if her flying skills weren't up to par yet, she went down and suffered from dehydration. It was quite sad. I picked her up and gently rubbed her. She took a couple of gasps and then that was it. :( I buried her in the berry garden. I burned a candle and some sage at her gravesite. I'm on this mailing list of inspirational notes called A Note From The Universe. Call this a huge coincidence, but 3 days later I received this e-mail:

I just want you to know, Holly, that those animals you've known, who've moved beyond the veils of time and space, were forever changed by your love, they're alive and well, and they've banded together to ask me a favor... that I make sure you get this message.
